Feel Good Fashion & Beauty Tips
Well New York was a blast! ⭐️ I loved my time in NYC - I adore London, but the energy here somehow just feels more optimistic, more vibrant, it feels like anything could happen here, which I love. Read all about my time in NY as well as my latest fashion tips in my latest blog.
I’m rounding up this week’s Feel Good Fashion & Beauty favourites from my content on Instagram!
For the love of Fashion Week! 💗🏙️
Always glamorous, always exhausting and always a little crazy!
It's been a right old mix this year, and a great dose of everything from work to play to everything in-between.
I've met up with old friends and colleagues and made plenty of new ones, all in my favourite city with mostly glorious weather! 🌞
Thought you would all appreciate a few snippets on here so here you are...
These days, you can do so much virtually - and I often do - but there is nothing quite like sitting at the edge of the runway and feeling the pulse of it all... it's inspirational, energising and exhausting all at once! ⭐️

New York Round Up
It's been all weathers as you can see - but mostly beautiful sunshine - and I'm returning home with a full belly and a full proverbial cup to hit the ground running and love life.
Cover pic is Dumbo House - most definitely my favourite @sohohouse so far with an incredible view of Manhattan. The next couple of pics show what happened on 9/11, an incredibly moving time to be here. Then we have a couple of snaps of the @thegreenwichhotel, a true bolt hole and sanctuary in this frenetic city which truly feels like a second home - the staff are just above and beyond.
Then we have the terrific view from the Staten Island Ferry and a cheeky moment with the hubster which he'll probably kill me for! Followed by the beach at Dumbo, the torrential rain in Greenwich Village, and then one of many outfit shots, just to keep to my usual form! With the amount of walking I did, when I wasn't working, trainers were an absolute necessity - Carrie Bradshaw was lying!! 👟
Hope this gives you a little flavour of what an amazing city this is - save for future reference and if you are thinking of going - GO!!!!

Welcome to the fashion revolution by @runwayofdreams ⭐️
Well this was inspiring, humbling, emotional, confronting and so much more - and it really made me think. It's been an incredible week of fashion in New York City, but this has to be the most memorable moment for me, for so many reasons.
A runway show dedicated to fashionable, adaptable clothing for people with disabilities of all types, modelled by real people, who's everyday challenges just going about their regular lives, put ours sharply in perspective.
It made me realise, that I work in an industry that strives to be inclusive of different races and genders, but really has completely overlooked this group of people, many of whom require specially adapted clothes in order to dress themselves. Not once before now have I given them a second thought - something I am not at all proud of.
These wonderful people were so inspiring, so joyful, living utterly in the moment despite such huge adversity, and it reminded me to never take my body for granted again. So what if I gained a few pounds recently, or my perimenopausal hormones are giving me jip - frankly, it's a bloody privealedge to be alive and well and have a body that functions as it was designed to. We have NO CONCEPT of just how tough life can really be - and despite this, these people were full of gratitude and joy. Wow - just wow. Big lessons driven home - and I'm so grateful I got to attend this 🙏🏼
So fun backing up my fabulous friend, the talented @olliegabriel in @parron.allen for his incredible performance at the end which couldn't have been a more perfect and touching finale - we all had tears running down our cheeks throughout.
An evening I'll never forget.
Fashion friends THIS should be the future of our industry!!

My NY Investment Piece
Ok, I may not be winning any prizes for best unboxing video anytime soon, but having summed and ahhed about several gorgeous bits and pieces whilst shopping in New York, this was the one investment purchase I allowed myself to purchase 😍
It’s the most droolworthy, structured ‘numero neuf’ handbag in classic black from Polene Paris - and I am in love: https://eng.polene-paris.com/products/numero-neuf-mini-noir
Here’s why I chose this beauty to come home with me:
⭐️ It filled a gap in my wardrobe: quite simply, I don’t own a high end, decent sized black handbag. I favour warm colours, most of my handbags are brown or bright colours, and I have been caught short a few times when I wanted to match a look ‘back to black’ as they say.
⭐️ It was a sustainable purchase - in that I intended pretty much to buy once and buy better. It’s not a throw away item from a cheaper brand, it’s a lovingly made, structured piece that I will genuinely treasure forever.
⭐️ It fits my style personality. I am no wall flower or shrinking violet and I love clothes and accessories that make a style statement. This piece has an unusual and striking shape, and I believe will be a talking point.
⭐️ It’s practical-ish! It’s large enough to carry most of the essentials I would need for a day out working, although it won’t carry a laptop - a compromise I was very happy to make as it’s probably still going to be an occasional bag, as I’ll still be favouring the warmer palette.
⭐️ And finally - because it’s a lovely souvenir of a great week in one of my favourite cities!

The one that got away 🤩
Every year, especially whilst in New York, I drool at the latest collection from one of my favourite designers Alice + Olivia, in particular their studded leather biker jackets 😍
They bring a new edition of these jackets out every year - this year the shape is cropped and comes in these beautiful colours (although the cream one is slightly different).
One of the reasons I didn’t purchase this gorgeous jacket is I couldn’t make up my mind on colour! Which one do you think I should have got? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️
The other reason is I haven’t yet completed my style plans for the coming season - I will be sharing them with you very soon, so you can do it too! ⭐️

What is the one thing I advise to never go shopping without?! 🛍️
A plan!!
Doing your research, in terms of knowing which colours and styles suit you, what image you would like to portray, and which trends (if any) you would like to dip into are all worth their weight in gold, but IF you should find yourself on a mini shopping-spree without said plan... there are two categories of items that are always worth looking out for:
1️⃣ Link Pieces
How often have you got a great top and a brilliant bottom, but just lack that little special something to pull the whole thing together? This is a problem my clients come to me with all the time. Often all is needed is a simple layering piece in your colour palette to make it work - always keep an eye out for these and grab them when you see them!
2️⃣ Accessories
There is nothing quite like a decent selection of new accessories in your favourite colours, to take your existing wardrobe in a new direction and give it a little bit of zing and sparkle! I particularly like to collect these when I am travelling as they also serve as a lovely souvenir.
We are about to do a deep dive into reassessing your wardrobe for the new season - so stay tuned to follow along! ⭐️
