Feel Good Fashion & Beauty Tips
Hello from New York! I’ve got a couple of days of shows here at NYFW, one client and time for a bit of fun NYC style, so will take you with me and show you what I get up to 💛 It's been too long since I've been in the big 🍎- and it definitely hasn't dissaponted... still can't decide if this is my fave city or whether it's London... tough call.
I’m rounding up this week’s Feel Good Fashion & Beauty favourites from my content on Instagram - make sure to check out all the behind the scenes action over on stories!
1 dress 6 ways 👗
This is your personal style reminder to make sure you get your full moneys worth out of the pieces you buy 💫
We have all heard of buying less and buying better - but as well as investing your precious money into your wardrobe you also need to invest your valuable time.
Set a few minutes aside with each new garment to see how many different ways you wear it and save pics in an album on your phone for easy reference. It's amazing how switching things up can totally change the look and feel 💃🏼
Here are 6 different ways with one simple dress to get you started, although I could have carried on for a lot longer.
Dress Meisi
Belt MaxMara
Blazer Twinset
Denim Jacket Zara
Bag Fairfax & Favor
Earrings Soru
Sunnies Chloe

New season - new wardrobe! 💫
Well, actually the same wardrobe, but with a few tweaks.
This is the time of year that I get planning, assessing and sorting. As time goes by, our clothing requirements change in line with the evolution of our bodies, lifestyle and even our personalities... not to mention fashion and trends if they interest you.
Ironically, whilst I'm running around helping everyone else look and feel fabulous, it's easy to forget about yours truly, I feel like my style personality has also really changed this year, not to mention my size, so I'll be sharing a lot more of this as I go about it myself in real time - if you want to follow along, stay tuned! 💛
Who's ready for a wardrobe revamp?! 🙋♀️

Matilda
By the time you read this I'll be on the plane to NY, but I really don't feel like going.
As soon as we were back from Spain I just felt something wasn't right with Matilda, and sure enough, we haven't seen her since.
She goes outside occasionally but is basically a housecat. As the weather has been so warm, I have got increasingly worried, as she is usually under my feet for cuddles all day long.
I've done all the usual things, alerted the village, spoken with neighbours, called all the vets and searched and searched.
I spoke with the wonderful @pet_psychic_claire who felt that she was trapped somewhere but couldn't move... this was Thursday... I don't know what else to do 😢
We have a housesitter, so if she does make it back home someone will be there... but I just have this awful feeling that she won't.
I have felt so sick to the stomach. The thought of her out there alone, and I just can't get to her, and if she is trapped a horrible way to go...
I'm just consoling myself that animals are usually far more pragmatic about these sorts of things than we are... and if she has been suffering, I hope she is at least at peace now.
She was the most beautiful, empathetic and affectionate cat I have ever had... and I have owned quite a few 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️.
I know there's a small chance she may still come home, and I hope she does, I can't process anything properly without closure.
Don't really feel like posting about fashion today.
I know I'll be back to my normal self soon.
Thanks for all your messages. Love you all. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🦋

She's back!! 🐾
After a bloomin' emotional week, Madame Matilda just waltzes into the house as if nothing was wrong... the minute we left for NY! 🐾
I can't quite believe it, apparently she is a bit shabby and has been asleep on a bed ever since, so I do think as @pet_psychic_claire suggested she had got stuck somewhere, but thank goodness her 9 lives came into play and she has survived to tell the tale!
I cannot tell you how much heartache and anguish that caused!
I just had to thank you all again on here so much, as I have literally been inundated with messages of support. I cannot tell you how your lovely words have kept me going, you have been such a comfort through a horrible week, so thank you, thank you and thank you again! 💫💫
I might have to also admit...... that I may have jumped into action and lined up a new kitten to cheer up Lily who has been absolutely beside herself.....!!!
So when we get home, not only will we be giving huge extra cuddles to long lost Matilda, we'll also be welcoming a new family member to the madhouse!
Will pop a pic on stories.
So much love to you all. Thank you again.
Love M xxx

NYFW Throwback
The time I got totally caught out at New York Fashion Week, on live TV - but thankfully managed to style it out and get away with it - hopefully no-one ever noticed!!! 😅
I’m a bit all out of sync with the time difference and rushing about to shows, but in the meantime I though you might find this little snippet - from quite a few years ago now - rather amusing!
This was my first NYFW, and I wasn’t as familiar with some of the designers on this side of the Atlantic. I was told they just wanted me to do a short intro ‘My name is Miranda Holder and you’re watching….’ So when they said let’s jump right into the interview I nearly died of shock! What do you think? Did I cover up well? Managed to swiftly avoid answering the question in an effort to distract - we soon got onto chatting about my outfit which was far more comfortable territory!
I’ve got a couple of days of shows here, one client and time for a bit of fun NYC style, so will take you with me and show you what I get up to - even if it isn’t in real time! 💛

Trendwatch Autumn/Winter 23 - which ones catch your eye? ⭐️
It seems only fitting to be sharing some of the new seasons trends whilst I’m at NYFW looking at the fashions for the seasons ahead (which by the way are fabulous - more on that later).
The below isn’t an exhaustive list, but my favourites from what is going to be a spectacular season fashion-wise. Ask any stylist and they will tell you they far prefer the A/W trends to the S/S - simply because thanks to the cooler weather we get to wear more and have more to play with!
As always - I’m not advising jumping in with both ‘Choo’s and buying up the lot, but if you did want to add a little something something to your existing collection, this is a great place to start 💫
1️⃣ Sequins & liquid metallics - We all love (and need) a little shimmer and sparkle at this time of the year, silver and gold will reign strong, just remember you don’t have to save them for best.
2️⃣ Sheer fabrics - layer them over other pieces or simply your lingerie if you dare… definitely a fun one to play with if you are brave enough!
3️⃣ Quiet luxury - this is elevated minimalism, all about celebrating the beautifully crafted garment and buying better (and consciously) but buying less… hallelujah!
4️⃣ Power Hour - immaculate tailoring is still having a moment and there’s nothing quite like it for adding shape and dimension to all shapes and sizes - shoulder pads will always be your best friend.
5️⃣ Girl Power - bows on everything from in your hair to adorning handbags and shoes, the bigger the better! 🎀
6️⃣ Sculptural studs - move over dangly earrings, the stud earring is having it’s day - a welcome, cleaner switch.
7️⃣ The oversized clutch - they make you look even tinier, hold more of your stuff and provide instant chic to any outfit. Love 💗
8️⃣ The classic white shirt with a twist is hugely popular - possibly the best blank canvas for an outfit ever, try one of the new styles and just go for ivory or cream if white doesn’t flatter.

Hello from New York! 🚕
I'm sharing all the fashion week fun and touristy bits on stories, but thought you might appreciate some prettier pics here on the grid. This is a photo shoot I did when I was here for NYFW a few years ago and it remains one of my favourites. Hope you love it as much as I do.
I can't actually believe it's only Wednesday - it feels like I've been here for ages, probably because I've packed so much in already.
The runway shows have been fabulous, and I'm looking forward to working with my darling @olliegabriel to finish things with a bang tonight, then there's the afterparty, and then a couple of 'quieter' days (famous last words) before heading back to the UK to give Matilda a giant cuddle!!
It's been too long since I've been in the big 🍎- and it definitely hasn't dissaponted... still can't decide if this is my fave city or whether it's London... tough call.

If I could give you ONE piece of shopping advice...
...it would be to take a photo in the mirror while you are trying on, wait a little while and look back at it later, before you buy 📲
WHY?
Very simply - for objectivity and perspective.
No matter how hard we try, we all have emotional issues about our bodies, we all have bits we don’t like that much, fat days and cellulite, especially in the harsh lights of the changing room.
No matter how hard we train our mindset and try to be positive, or how much we look after ourselves, these little insecurities creep in... which can turn a perfectly good shopping day into a bad one.
Taking a pic and looking back at it, gives you a moment to step away from the harsh scrutiny of the mirror, gather yourself and look back from a more balanced mindset. Allowing you to truly see whether that garment is working for you or not ⭐️
It works the other way too - I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought something in a great mood then got it home and wondered what on earth I was doing 😂 So it cuts out the impulse purchasing as well.
