What has happened with the weather?! If you don’t want to part with your Spring frocks despite the snow having joined us, here are my top tips for layering up and staying warm this snowy Spring!
Heattech Scoop Neck Long Sleeved Thermal Top by Uniqlo
Thermal vests are a must and as I tend to run cold I often layer several at once. I love the @uniqlo_uk heattech range because they are super fine and don’t add any bulk. There’s lots of great colours too.
100 Denier Thermal Heatgen™ Opaque Tights by M&S
M&S have the monopoly on thermal tights. Again, these can be layered, at least with a pair of socks over them. Perfect to keep your toes from getting icy and always essential if you’re going for that dress.
Waterproof Chelsea Boot by BRGN at Sass and Edge
These chunky boots are waterproof too which means that you’ll stay dry in even the most persistent of blizzards. I love teaming these with a flowing maxi dress for full on prairie girl vibes.
Merino Knee-Highs by Wolford
If your thermal tights aren’t quite making the mark then Wolford is the place to go to for warm socks that don’t ruin the line of your clothing. Their merino wool is the best of the best and will keep you super snug.
Sophia Check Maxi Dress by Tyde London
Staying with the prairie girl vibes, if you’re going for a frock choose one in a heavier fabric such as a thick brushed cotton or a fine needle cord. This one from Tyde London is in on trend plaid and the long sleeves will nicely conceal a thermal long sleeve vest.
Chambray Blue Denim Detachable Ruffled Faux Collar by TLM Edit
If you’re opting for a sweater & slacks look then these faux collars can be a life saver. TLM Edit has the best range so you can colour or print clash to your hearts content. You can even get cuffs - perfect for making a casual or comfy look appear more formal.
Ultra Light Down Vest by Uniqlo
Back to Uniqlo again - they really are brilliant for ultra light weight padded gillets that are perfect for layering under bulkier coats and jackets and even blazers. They are great for staying warm and stylish with a serving of sartorial smugness.
Aspen Belted Quilted Shell Down Vest by Frankie Shop at Net A Porter
If you’re after more of a statement puffer gillet then look no further than this little number from Frankie Shop. I’m loving the cut and the belt, it oozes cool minimalist style.
Oversize Knit Viviane Dress by Joseph Fashion
I love this as a compromise between a sweater dress and maxi cardigan. It’s super stylish and looks great when layered over monochrome (think single colour) - whether its trousers and a top or a long dress. There are many cheaper versions available if you do a search.
Lambswool Fingerless Gloves by Woolovers
Numb fingers are no good to anyone. These come in a great range of colours and are a lovely way to add a little bit of extra detail to your look.
Hot Hands Instant Hand Warmers by Amazon
Pro-Stylist Tip! A good stylist is never without these. They have come in very handy on many a red carpet and get stuffed in all sorts of places!! A great secret weapon to stay warm without adding the layers.
