How To Wear Green

Keeping with the green theme of my latest Fashion Favourites edit - do you think green suits you? Answered yes? Well you are absolutely right! There are more shades of green than any other colour (295 shades of green to be precise!) which means there are plenty of great options for you.

The key to finding the perfect shade is knowing your skin tone. First you will need to find out whether you are warm or cool skin toned - there is an easy hack for this! Hold some chunky jewellery up to your face - if the gold looks better you are warm toned, and if it’s silver your skin tone is cool.

If you are warm toned, then opt for greens with a yellow undertone such as olive, chartreuse, lime, shamrock, or pear. If you have a cool skin tones pick greens with a blue undertone such as fern, emerald, mint, pine, basil, or pistachio.

Did you know that is it a proven fact that green increases our productivity? It is also one of the colours of the heart chakra and evokes balance and harmony. Green is midway on the colour spectrum which makes it restful on the eyes and because of this, green is calming and peaceful. Wearing green empowers us to make clear and balanced decisions!

Love the idea go wearing green? Here are some ideas how:

1 - With pink - every bloggers favourite and makes such an impact! Either go full colour such as green top and pink bottom, or a green dress with pink accessories such as a bag or jewellery.

2 - With blue, breaking the fashion myth that these two hues shouldn’t go together - it’s actually one of my favourite combinations! Neighbours on the colour wheel, green and blue are cool colours that form a refreshing combination - just ask anyone at Fashion Week, I have seen plenty of green/blue outfit combinations!

3 - Wear it with a pop of leopard, to make it even more fabulous! Opt for leopard accessories such as a belt, watch, handbag, or jewellery.

Most importantly - wear green with joy! If you love the colour and the way it looks on you, you will shine just like an emerald jewel to all those around you.
